What does the intrinsic motivation test measure?

The test consists of a complete questionnaire around 17 work-related motivators, clustered into four quadrants: Results, Rules, Space and Relationships (the “4Rs”).

Results

The Results quadrant represents drive to achieve good results and returns.

Rules

The Rules quadrant represents the need for affirmation, certainty, clarity and predictability.

Space

The Space quadrant represents the need for playing space and having one’s own direction.

Relationships

The Relationships quadrant represents the importance a person places on connecting with others and the environment.

The intrinsic motivation test reveals what drives you to get moving and to work with pleasure and energy. A high score on a motivator means that that motivator is important to you. When the characteristics of that drive are present in the work, it is highly motivating. A low score on a drive means that that drive is not important to you; the characteristics associated with that drive will not motivate you or will motivate you only slightly.
