Project Engineer – Amsterdam

Introduction

As a project engineer at Royal Van Lent, you work on a specific technical subproject on a custom-built superyacht. You ensure everything is correct—from design elaboration to execution—and maintain oversight of planning, coordination, and progress.



Function

  • You are responsible for a defined part of the yacht, such as the tender lift, bow thruster, fuel tanks, or the helideck—and ensure everything is technically sound. 
  • You collaborate with various disciplines: from engineers to production, procurement, and sometimes suppliers. 
  • You keep an overview, manage planning, quality, and coordination, and ensure your subproject runs smoothly. 
  • You communicate frequently with colleagues, solve bottlenecks, and ensure everyone has the right information. 
  • You see your work realized in the build and make a concrete contribution to the end result.

Royal Van Lent, part of Feadship, builds truly one-off superyachts of the highest standard. Each yacht is a unique creation, designed and constructed as a singular project. The design sets the foundation for every technical decision, driving a process that demands exceptional precision and continuous innovation. Building these one-off superyachts is an intricate undertaking, where engineering and craftsmanship converge under uncompromising quality standards. Over an average construction period of four years, every detail is meticulously developed to deliver a yacht that embodies exclusivity and excellence. 

 


Requirements

  • Higher professional education , BSC-  level, preferably in mechanical engineering or maritime technology.
  • at least 5 years of Experience with technical project coordination.
  • Strong in coordination, planning, and switching between disciplines.
  • Affinity with yacht building or complex technical projects .
  • Proactive attitude and attention to quality and detail .
