Naval Architect – Amsterdam

At Royal Van Lent, you design superyachts that are unmatched anywhere in the world.
Function
You are responsible for the technical integrity, feasibility, and regulatory compliance of superyacht designs. Reporting to the Project Engineer, you work closely with Engineering and Production teams while coordinating approvals with classification societies and flag administrations. The role requires technical ownership, on-site presence, and the ability to proactively manage compliance and design risks.
Organization
Royal Van Lent is part of the Feadship brand and builds fully custom superyachts exceeding 100 metres. Every vessel is a unique engineering project — designed and built to order, down to the last detail. The Naval Architecture department works on projects where technical complexity, international regulations, and build precision converge.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture or Maritime Technology
- Minimum 3 years of experience in yacht or shipbuilding
- Knowledge of superyacht regulations (80m+), international codes, and classification standards is an advantage
- Experience with large yachts and/or commercial vessels is an advantage
- Solid understanding of yacht production processes and shipyard constraints
- Strong technical judgment, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and take clear ownership of responsibilities
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Preferably based in the Netherlands

- Salary 75,000 – 100,000 euro per year
- 40 hours per week
