Project Manager Yacht Equipment – Leiden
Introduction
From first design to delivery at the yard — you manage the full project lifecycle for bespoke systems on the world’s finest superyachts.
Function
The Project Manager holds end-to-end responsibility for the full project lifecycle, from initial design through final delivery at the Feadship shipyard. The role requires steering a multidisciplinary team (project work preparer, project engineer, production foremen, project controller) and acting as the primary client interface toward Feadship yards. Strong technical understanding, commercial awareness, and project management discipline are all essential.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and coordinate the project team across the full project cycle
• Monitor progress, risks, and scope changes
• Prepare quotations and manage internal handovers
• Maintain control over budget, planning, and quality
• Report periodically to the Managing Director
• Organize project meetings with internal and external stakeholders
• Ensure client satisfaction and manage final delivery at the yard
Organization
Akerboom designs and builds custom products for superyachts: hatches, doors, cranes, platforms, gangways, boarding ladders, and propeller shaft installations. Every product is unique, every client is a Feadship yard, and every project cycle runs for a minimum of three years. As Project Manager, you are the central figure in all of it.
Requirements
• Minimum 3–5 years of demonstrable project management experience
• Technical / mechanical engineering background, HBO level
• Shipbuilding or maritime industry experience — required
• Experience in yacht or superyacht construction (yachtbuilt) — strong advantage
• Structured project methodology; fluent communication in Dutch and English
• Hands-on attitude, result-driven, able to balance production and commercial demands
• Sales experience is an additional advantage
Offer
• Salary € 4,800 – € 6,000 gross per month (CAO Metalektro)
• One-year contract in accordance with CAO Metalektro
